Since 31st of October Marcel Teine has become an official member of the Type Directors Club in New York. Founded in 1946, today’s TDC is an international organization for all people who are devoted to excellence in typography, both in print and on screen.
Apprentice with long sight

Steffi Helm (our apprentice in Media Creation) won the 8th place at the international design contest “Eyes on Tomorrow” with her concept of a postcard on the issue sustainability. The contest was initiated by the council for sustained development. The award show took place at the “Staatsgebäude” in Berlin on 10/01/03.
Dürr and Wella amongst top ten

The annual reports of Dürr and Wella , both designed by 3st kommunikation were listed amongst the top-10 ranking at the beauty contest of annual reports, organized by manager magazine. In the divison of optics Dürr placed 5th in the SDAX whereas Wella placed seventh in the MDAX.
Minis on the up

The “3st Platin-Edition 2002” won an award from the German Designers Club in the category “Mailings”. The platinum coloured slipcase contains three annual reports, developed in a very small format (9 x 11cm) and despite of their miniature parts the production was carried out accurately and precisely. The message: 3st kommunikation sets a high value on distinctive visual concepts, ambitious Design and highest accuracy in production.

BERU awarded first place by Focus Money

BERU AG’s 2001/02 annual report comes in at number one in the overall ranking and in the MDAX category in the Focus Money competition. The two main assessment criteria are high yields and quality of information, making the Ludwigsburg-based automotive supplier Company of the Year 2003.
Member of the German Designer Club

Founded by Tassilo von Grolman in 1989, the DDC (German Design Club) is now managed by Thomas Feicht and stands for quality networked communication in all design disciplines, right the way through to architecture. In addition to the national competition, the DDC runs a number of themed events to encourage the interdisciplinary pooling of ideas. Florian Heine has represented 3st kommunikation as a member of the DDC since 2001. More info: www.ddc.de

3st was commissioned by an American plant care company to develop a tailor-made online project portal. A multi-layered authorisation system ensures that the workflow and approval process for print production is fully documented and completed considerably faster.
Screen design for Boehringer Ingelheim

Boehringer Ingelheim relies on 3st when it comes to screen design and implementing the uniform corporate image worldwide. A combination of Flash and PowerPoint shows the pharmaceuticals company in a new light.
Member of the German Public Relations Association (DPRG)

As a specialist in the field of editorial design (staff and customer magazines), 3st kommunikation has been a member of the Federal Association for Internal Corporate Communication (inkom.) since 2001, which was merged with the DPRG in June 2003. Membership of the DPRG offers the agency an ideal forum for discussing all aspects of press and public relations work with fellow specialists.
Mainz College visits 3st

“How was 3st kommunikation founded? How did the agency win its first clients? What are the typical workflows in the agency?” Students of Communication Design at Mainz College had the chance to ask these and more questions when they visited the agency together with Prof. Heinz Becker on 2 June 2003. After a brief tour of the agency, Florian Heine gave them an interesting insight into the agency’s history, the business units, practical examples, but also the agency’s mission statement and the corporate structure of 3st kommunikation. More such events and partnerships with various colleges are planned.
Fourth time lucky

At the end of 2002, the creative team from 3st kommunikation was called on for the fourth time to submit drafts for the “3st Glass Edition 2003”. From almost 30 drafts, this year’s specialist jury “Karin Schmidt-Friedrichs, from the Herman Schmidt publishing house in Mainz, Thomas Feicht, DDC company spokesman, and Prof. Ulysses Voelker, from the Design department at Mainz College chose two glasses which will be produced as a limited edition and sent to clients and friends of the agency as a gift. The design motto for 2003: “Liquid types - a font storm in a tumbler”.
