In december 2008 the annual reports of KUKA AG, MorphoSys AG and Volkswagen Group were decorated for their outstanding design with the GOOD DESIGN Award 2008 by the Chicago Athenaeum. All winning products are exposed in the Chicago Athenaeum´s Permanent Design Collection or can be seen in the online showroom.
Now in its 58th year the famous GOOD DESIGN Award honors innovative design products and architectures around the world. The only independent museum of architecture and design in the United States, the Chicago Athenaeum, is hosting this award program.

Top-3 in mm design ranking

This year´s german manager magazin competition „Best Annual Reports“ ranked 3 reports made by 3st within top-3 in design. MorphoSys’s annual report scored 82,69 out of 100 points and gained the first place in the german Tec-Dax. Above all indications MorphoSys reached the fourth position. The construction and engineering specialist KUKA AG was evaluated in the optical category for the first time and jumped with 78,25 points directly on third position of the M-Dax. In the S-Dax Dürr AG scored 79,36 points and achived third position. All good things come in threes such as 3st.
It's raining Gold at the ARC Awards 2008

The jury of the International ARC Awards Competition 2008 (New York City, USA) has decided now. With 2 grand awards, 5 gold awards, 1 silver award and 3 honor awards 3st achieved a total of 11 design awards.
Our client’s annual reports gained top marks within their industries and received the following awards: MorphoSys: 2 gold awards for overall and illustration, Kuka: 2 gold awards for coverdesign and overall and 1 silver award for the online report, Volkswagen: 1 gold award for interior design, 1 honor award for photography, Schott: 1 honor award for cover design and printing & production, Stihl: 1 honor award in the category non-english.
Above all industries and categories the annual report of Kuka AG was elected to be the Best German Annual Report in 2008. The report of Volkswagen Group won the grand award for best interior design. We are very happy about those results and congratulate our clients.
The ARC Award (Annual Report Competition) is granted by the MerComm, Inc./The International Academy of Arts & Sciences, Ossing, N.Y. since 1987. It is the largest international competition honoring excellence in annual reports. For further information please visit the ARC’s website.
LACP Vision Awards 2008

This year´s LACP Vision Award (San Diego, USA) evaluated more than 3,000 annual reports from 21 countries. 3st was decorated with 1 platin award, 4 gold awards, 2 silver awards and 2 bronze awards.
With 98 out of 100 points, MorphoSys again comes out ahead of the biotechnology branch and receives the platin award from the League of American Communication Professionals.
In the world ranking Schott’s annual report achieves ninth position out of 3.161. The annual report was decorated with the gold award in the categories overall and best cover.

Driving ideas – Magazine for Volkswagen

The mobility of tomorrow starts with outstanding and sweeping ideas. Volkswagen’s slogan „Driving ideas“ represents the company’s innovation power and gives answers to tomorrows challenges in the form of an integrated magazine. Twelve stories deliver exciting and fascinating insights into the world of mobility, following the terms „Performance“, „Innovation“ and „Responsibility“. These magazines address clients and opinion leaders from economy and press. The edition contained 160.000 german and english magazines which were handed out in Lufthansa lounges and in the group´s new cars at the delivery in Wolfsburg. Using synergy: the magazine is also part of the group´s annual report realized by 3st kommunikation. The additional use of the same content in a seperate magazine is a successful example of intelligent content management.
Automation fascinates

The KUKA AG, an M-Dax listed construction and engineering specialist, entrusts 3st with conception and creation of their current annual report. A distinctive, powerfull staged annual report was generated by the topic „Automation fascinates“. Beyond printproduction a new html-report was produced. By using modern JavaScript technology the accented adoption of animations was enabled without using Flash and therefore without long loading time.
CMS for direct access

The 3st Project Portal has standed our clients in good stead for efficient organisation of content and layouts for many years. In addition we now implemented a professional online content management system (CMS), which enables our clients to edit content directly in type documents. In this year´s production of annual reports the new system has delivered optimal performance.
BCP Award – Silver for Volkswagen

The Volkswagen Group´s annual report has been assigned with the „Best of Corporate Publishing Award 2008“ (BCP) in silver. 3st was commissioned to realize the current annual report and to implement a new html-report. Themed „Driving ideas“ an imposing and visual independent report arose which is characterized by a large integrated magazine. In this spirit emerged the idea using this magazine as an independent publication aswell.

On July 30th, the jury of the International ARC Awards Competition 2007 (New York City) has made their decisions. 9 prices in total have been awarded to 3st, including 2 x Gold, 4 x Silver and 3 x Bronze.
Special acknowledgements went to the title design of Schott AG’s annual report, as to the overall results of Wacker Chemie. Both of them got 1 x Gold within their branch. The Silver medals went to Dürr, MorphoSys (Illustrations), Epigenomics and Stihl, all within their respective branches. The Bronze medal went to the precious metal specialist Heraeus and Qiagen. Congratulations to our customers :-))
