Europe without frontiers

On 1 May 2004, the European Union welcomed ten new member states into its midst. Languages, cultures, and traditions will come together, inspire one another, and grow into something new. This is an event which we also celebrate in our own way: with an edition of glasses on the topic of “EU expansion - boundless variety”.
20 designers let their wishes and visions run wild, submitting a plethora of colourful ideas on the subject of Europe. An independent jury of specialists selected the two designs which we sent to all Presidents and Prime Ministers of all members of the EU as a small gesture of thanks for the commitment displayed by all the governments involved.
Communication is our passion. As creative individuals and as Europeans, we look forward to the different opportunities, influences, and encounters which a growing European Union offers all its members. And to a Europe which finds its true identity in the open exchange of ideas and culture as well as in trade.
